Shin Dong-yup Fooled by Boom's 1 Million Won Wine Gift

Broadcaster Boom revealed the "fake wine gift incident" that had long weighed on his conscience, offering another apology to Shin Dong-yup. However, Shin accepted the apology with laughter, stating, "The intention is what matters," showcasing the deep trust between the two.

On the 3rd, the YouTube channel 'Zzanbro Shin Dong-yup' released 'Boom Nucksal Hanhae Zzanbro EP.156.' During the broadcast, Boom shared an unexpected anecdote regarding an expensive wine he had previously gifted to Shin.

"I still feel sorry toward you, hyung," Boom said cautiously. The incident he referred to was the so-called "fake wine incident," a ridiculous mishap where the high-end wine he gifted to express his gratitude turned out to be counterfeit.

The story traces back to the tvN variety program 'Amazing Saturday.' Shin revealed that he was the one who personally recommended Boom as the ideal MC during the program's early stages.

"When we were first creating the program, I had many worries about who should host it," Shin explained. "I highly valued the quick wit and ad-libbing skills I saw in Boom from a previous program we worked on together, and I thought he would be a good fit for 'Saturday Closed System.'"

In gratitude, Boom prepared a special gift for Shin: a luxury wine worth over 1,000,000 won.

However, a few months later, an unexpected truth emerged when Shin opened the bottle for a special occasion.

"Boom even came to the waiting room to give it to me. He said it was a wine he had received himself, but that brand was a product with many counterfeits," Shin recalled.

He continued, drawing laughter from the cast: "As it happened, I had the same wine at home, so I knew the original taste. I poured a glass to enjoy it meaningfully by myself later, but as soon as I took one sip, I went straight to the sink. I spat it all out and ended up throwing it away."
