Yoon Mira reveals doctor advised against plastic surgery

Actress Yoon Mira has revealed how a visit to a plastic surgery clinic in her younger years resulted in unexpected advice from a doctor to "not touch her face."

Yoon will appear alongside Kangnam, Han Da-gam, and Park Ji-hyun for her first variety talk show appearance since her debut on the "Miracle Las" special of MBC's "Radio Star," airing on the 29th.

While she has primarily met viewers through her acting roles, she is expected to showcase a different side of her charm, sharing honest, witty remarks and various life stories during the broadcast.

"Doctor advised against surgery in her 30s"

During the episode, Yoon will also reveal the secret to her unchanging youthful appearance.

She confessed that in her 30s, she visited a famous plastic surgery clinic with an acquaintance but received an unexpected response from the surgeon.

Upon seeing her, the doctor reportedly advised, "Don't touch your face," leading her to leave the clinic without undergoing any procedures or surgery.

"Thinking back now, I am so glad I didn't get surgery then," Yoon recalled, noting that her natural skin, meticulous cleansing habits, and consistent skincare are the keys to her youthful look.

"No husband, but three dressing rooms"

Yoon also shared her extraordinary passion for fashion, bringing laughter to the studio by quipping, "I don't have a husband, but I have three dressing rooms."

A dedicated fashion enthusiast, she mentioned owning approximately 50 pairs of jeans and shared her personal philosophy: "Rather than blindly following trends, I wear the style that suits me best." She added that she typically enjoys wearing jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers.

5,000-to-1 competition... mother fainted from joy

Her journey to her acting debut was nothing short of cinematic.

At age 19, Yoon saw a newspaper advertisement recruiting rookie actors and applied for the audition. She recalled arriving with a makeup-free face and short hair; seeing other applicants dressed glamorously, she initially lost confidence, but her mother encouraged her, saying, "You are the prettiest."

Ultimately, Yoon secured her place by overcoming a staggering 5,000-to-1 competition rate.

Upon seeing her daughter's name on the list of successful candidates, her mother was overcome with joy and fainted on the spot, requiring an emergency trip to the hospital.

Though their financial situation was difficult at the time, the doctor in charge reportedly waived the medical fees, telling the mother, "Please make sure to succeed." Yoon noted she still remembers that warm act of kindness.

Born in 1951, Yoon debuted in the 1972 film "The Virgin Boatwoman" and turns 74 this year. She remains a beloved veteran actress in the Republic of Korea.
