Jisung's 'Apartment' hits 5.4%, trailing Gong Hyo-jin and Namkoong Min

The JTBC weekend drama 'Apartment', starring Jisung, left a disappointing impression by recording the lowest viewership rating in the weekend mini-series competition.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 8 of 'Apartment', which aired on the 2nd, recorded a 5.4% viewership rating based on nationwide paid households.

The gap was distinct when compared to competing programs in the same time slot. tvN's 'Spooky Romance' starring Park Eun-bin recorded 6.0%, and KBS2's 'The Husband' starring Namkoong Min recorded 7.2%. Additionally, MBC's 'Married Woman Killer' starring Gong Hyo-jin, which premiered on the 1st, continued its strong performance by soaring to 8.0% in just its second episode.

In this episode, Park Hae-kang (Jisung) followed the instructions of Lee Chung-won (Park Byeong-eun) to deliver a bag containing 10 billion won to the head of the police investigation department, but ultimately changed his mind.

Looking at a family portrait and thinking of the people he must protect, Park Hae-kang eventually began to flip the script in his own way instead of following Lee Chung-won's plan.

After visiting the investigation chief, he showed a changed side, warning, "You should hurry with the medical bail," and adding, "The 10 billion won you want is now also on a deadline."

Upon receiving the report that the delivery of the 10 billion won was successful, Lee Chung-won expressed satisfaction to Park Hae-kang, and Park Hae-kang also led a negotiation by demanding 10 billion won as a performance bonus. Upon returning home, he showed complex emotions as he faced a birthday party prepared by his family.

However, the situation reversed once again.

Lee Chung-won ordered him to eliminate Kang Ha-jeong (Ryu Hyun-kyung) as his final mission, but Park Hae-kang refused the order by steering the vehicle toward Manager Kim (No Jeong-hyeon), who was monitoring him, instead of Kang Ha-jeong.

Subsequently, visiting Taesan Construction, he confronted Lee Chung-won directly, saying, "I'm a bad guy too, but you're just trash," foreshadowing a full-scale confrontation.

On another front, the fact that Jang Suk-jin (Moon So-ri) is a resident of a rental unit was revealed, causing the conflict between apartment owners and tenants to explode.

When residents questioned her eligibility to attend the tenant representative meeting, Jang Suk-jin countered, "Do I need qualifications even to step forward to make this a better place to live?" However, after returning home, she ultimately burst into tears while remembering the time she first moved in, evoking sympathy.

Later, Jang Suk-jin, who ran for president of the tenant representative meeting with the help of Park Hae-kang, was elected president after appealing, "Please recognize rental households as members of the community."

At the end of the broadcast, Jang Suk-jin expressed deep trust in Park Hae-kang, saying, "It feels like heaven sent you to make this apartment a good place to live," raising expectations for the changes the two will create in the future.
