Kim Go-eun wins Grand Prize at Blue Dragon Series Awards

Actress Kim Go-eun delivered a deeply moving acceptance speech after winning the Grand Prize, the highest honor, at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards.

Kim won the Grand Prize at the ceremony held on the 31st at Incheon Paradise City. She was named the best actress of the year, receiving recognition for her wide acting spectrum displayed in various OTT works, including TVING's 'Yumi's Cells' Season 3, Netflix's 'You and Everything Else', and 'The Price of Confession'.

Upon stepping onto the stage, Kim first reflected on her time working on these various projects.

“Looking at the nominees for Best Drama, I felt so proud because two of the works I participated in were listed,” she said. “I thought of many people I worked with. I will consider this an award that recognizes the hard work I put into 'You and Everything Else', 'The Price of Confession', and 'Yumi's Cells'.”

She then expressed deep respect for the senior actors who helped her grow.

“I was lucky enough to have many opportunities to work with truly wonderful seniors,” Kim said. “I was able to learn and grow a lot by following them. I hope to become a senior like that to someone someday.”

She also made sure to thank the fellow actors she worked alongside.

“I am also truly grateful to seniors Park Ji-hyun, Kim Jaewon, and Park Hae-soo,” she said, directly mentioning her colleagues to share the credit.

Above all, her sincerity toward her craft left the greatest impression of the night.

“I have never once thought that acting is something to be taken for granted,” Kim said calmly. “With every project, I try to approach it with a sense of urgency and responsibility.”

She concluded with a vow for the future: “I will work even harder so that people will want to keep discovering new sides of me and remain curious about my work. I hope you will look for me more and give me more opportunities. I will work really hard.”

Kim Go-eun's humble attitude and genuine passion for her craft, rather than just the glamour of the win, made the conclusion of the ceremony even more meaningful.
