AOA's Kwon Mina receives fan support after medical accident
Former AOA member Kwon Mina sparks concern among fans after sharing recent photos following a skin lifting medical accident earlier this year.
Former AOA member Kwon Mina is receiving a wave of concern and support from fans after sharing recent photos that show her appearing thinner than before. As she continues treatment following a medical accident during a skin lifting procedure disclosed earlier this year, interest in her health has resurfaced.

On the 20th, Kwon posted several photos on her social media (SNS) with the caption, "I finally tried to take off my makeup and act pretty, but the TV screen changed quite a bit."
In the released photos, Kwon is seen staring into the camera with a makeup-free face, wearing a white halterneck outfit. While her clear skin and distinct features remain evident, her slimmer face line and deeper eyes caught the attention of fans, drawing various reactions.
In one particular photo, where blue light from a TV screen reflects onto her face, some commenters noted that the pale atmosphere made her appear even thinner than she actually is.
Fans reacted with messages of encouragement, praying for her recovery with comments such as, "Health is more important than anything else," "I hope you don't overdo it and recover fully," "I want to see you smiling brightly like before for a long time," and "I hope you receive good treatment and regain your health."
Kwon previously disclosed that she suffered a medical accident during a skin lifting procedure earlier this year.
She revealed that she sustained deep second-degree burns during a Shurink lifting procedure and was subsequently diagnosed as needing skin grafts and long-term treatment.
Furthermore, she confessed to an increasing psychological burden as the treatment has lasted longer than expected. She explained that the slow pace of her recovery has caused fear and that she has suffered economic losses amounting to tens of millions of won after scheduled filming contracts were canceled.
Kwon stated that she is currently focusing on her recovery while personally bearing the medical expenses. She also revealed that she is pursuing civil and criminal proceedings against the medical staff involved. At the time of the accident, she expressed the severity of her situation, stating, "My life changed completely overnight."
Medical experts note that while skin lifting procedures are popular cosmetic treatments, complications such as burns or nerve damage can occur depending on an individual's skin condition and the procedure environment, making thorough prior explanation and post-procedure observation crucial. The specific legal liability regarding Kwon's case will be determined through the ongoing legal proceedings.
Kwon, who debuted with the group AOA in 2012, gained popularity through numerous hits such as "Short Skirt," "Like a Cat," and "Heart Attack." Since leaving the group, she has maintained steady communication with fans via social media.
The recently released photos are being viewed as more than just a simple update. Because Kwon has been transparent about her treatment and recovery, fans are focusing their support on her return to a healthy lifestyle rather than her physical changes, as interest in her ongoing recovery continues.
