Sechs Kies' Ko Ji-yong smiled brightly with fans just 8 hours before divorce news
Ko Ji-yong revealed he divorced his wife two years ago, explaining he kept the news private to protect his son's stability.
Ko Ji-yong, a former member of the group Sechs Kies, is drawing attention after it was revealed that he was interacting brightly with fans just hours before announcing his divorce from Heo Yang-im.

On the morning of the 29th, Ko posted a video to his TikTok account featuring a live broadcast he conducted alongside other influencers. In the video, Ko appeared in high spirits, interacting naturally with fans using affectionate comments such as "U-jju-jju."
The video was released approximately eight hours before Ko personally announced his divorce via SNS on the same day. Because he continued to engage with fans as usual despite the significant personal transition, the sudden announcement has captured public interest.
Through his SNS on this day, Ko stated, "I divorced my wife two years ago quite some time ago."
He explained, "The reason I did not disclose this until now was that I wanted to protect my son, Seung-jae, so that he could fully accept the situation and grow up stably. I will continue to do my best as a father, and although we have parted as a married couple, we are doing well while supporting each other."
He added cautiously, "I wish to share the facts through this post to prevent any potential misunderstandings in the future."
After debuting with the group Sechs Kies in 1997, Ko transitioned into business following the group's disbandment. He married family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im in 2013 and had a son, Seung-jae, the following year.
He later gained significant popularity appearing on the KBS2 variety program 'The Return of Superman,' where he shared daily life with his son. During his time on the show, he built a warm, relatable image with the public through his affectionate parenting.
Recently, Ko has shown signs of a career comeback by re-engaging with fans through TikTok live broadcasts. On the 21st, he also announced his return to the entertainment industry by signing an exclusive contract with Mountain Movement Story.
While the divorce was only recently made public, it appears Ko waited two years to prioritize his son's stability and his family's well-being. He plans to pursue new activities while continuing to fulfill his responsibilities as a parent.
