Sechs Kies' Ko Ji-yong reveals divorce; SNS posts show different paths

Following the news that former Sechs Kies member Ko Ji-yong has revealed his divorce from Heo Yang-im after two years, attention is being drawn to the contrasting social media footprints left by the two.

On the 29th, Ko stated through his SNS, "I divorced my wife two years ago quite some time ago."

He explained, "The reason I did not disclose this until now was that I wanted to protect my son, Seung-jae, so that he could fully accept the situation and grow up stably. It was a decision made to respect each other's paths and fulfill our respective responsibilities."

He continued, expressing his intention to maintain a relationship centered around his son, saying, "I will continue to do my best as a father, and although we have parted as a married couple, we are doing well while supporting each other."

Since the news of the divorce was delivered, eyes are also turning toward the social media accounts of both individuals.

On Ko's SNS, traces of his past with his family remain intact. Birthday photos with Heo Yang-im and Seung-jae, along with glimpses of daily family life, remain on his account without being deleted. While his recent posts focus mainly on his personal life, his past family photos allow one to confirm memories from that time.

On the other hand, the atmosphere on Heo's SNS is different. Her current account primarily consists of posts regarding daily life with her son, Seung-jae, and her personal activities, making it difficult to find photos from her time as a married woman with Ko.

Consequently, netizens are noting the difference in how the two have organized their SNS following the divorce. The interpretation is that while one side has preserved past family records, the other is focusing on their current life.

However, the difference in the traces left on social media does not necessarily define their relationship. Both Ko and Heo have stated that they will fulfill their roles as parents centered around their son, Seung-jae, even after the divorce.

Ko shared, "Seung-jae understands the new relationship between his mother and father and is currently doing well and is stable," emphasizing that the choice was for the sake of the family rather than being a result of conflict between them.

Previously, Ko and Heo married in 2013 and had their son, Seung-jae, the following year. They received much love by revealing their family's daily life through their appearance on the KBS2 variety program "The Return of Superman."

In particular, Ko gained a friendly image among the public through his affectionate moments with his son, and Heo also garnered significant interest while balancing broadcasting activities as a medical specialist.

After walking separate paths about 10 years after their marriage, the bond they share as parents is expected to continue unchangingly.
