Ji Sang-ryeol hints at marriage with Shin Boram, may move to Seoul

Entertainer Ji Sang-ryeol revealed that his relationship with show host Shin Boram, who is 16 years his junior, is still going smoothly. In particular, as he mentioned the possibility of moving from Incheon—his lifelong home—to Seoul depending on the direction of their relationship, interest is growing as to whether the two are heading toward the next stage of marriage.

A video titled "The Corner of Single Man Ji Sang-ryeol, Who Knocks Back 10 Bottles of Soju from the Daytime" was recently released on the Roborock Korea YouTube channel. While the production team explored various parts of Ji Sang-ryeol's home to look into the lifestyle of a man living alone, they also posed questions regarding his private life and dating.

Unexpected "traces of a woman" were captured inside the house.

When hair rollers were discovered in his room and the production team asked, "Isn't this yours, senior?", Ji Sang-ryeol cheekily replied, "I think it belongs to my sister-in-law." Multiple toothbrushes placed in the bathroom also raised suspicion, but he brushed it off with his signature wit, saying, "I have about 40 because many guests visit."

However, when the name of Shin Boram, with whom he is in a public relationship, appeared, Ji Sang-ryeol's attitude became much more honest.

To the question, "Are you still seeing each other well?", he answered without hesitation, "We are seeing each other well." He directly confirmed that the relationship, which developed into a romance last year, continues to this day.

What drew even more attention was the talk regarding his "home."

When the production team asked where he would live in the future, Ji Sang-ryeol said, "I was born in Incheon and I live in Incheon. But now, you never know. Depending on how the relationship turns out, I might move to Seoul, or I might stay here in Incheon. You never know what happens in life."

This essentially means he could change his place of residence depending on his future with his partner.

For Ji Sang-ryeol, Incheon is not just a place of residence. It is his hometown where he was born and raised, and the space that has served as his foundation for a long time. He expressed a special affection for Incheon, saying, "There is a certain comfort when I come to my hometown."

The fact that he has opened up the possibility of moving to Seoul based on the future of his romance is a point that allows one to guess the weight of the relationship. Interest is particularly focused on the fact that the apartment in Songdo International City, where he is known to reside, is a location with significant asset value.

It is reported that a unit in the Songdo Xi Harbour View 2 complex, where Ji Sang-ryeol is known to live, recently traded for 880 million won for an 84㎡ area, while a 143㎡ unit was in the mid-1.4 billion won range, and a 273㎡ penthouse was traded in the 3 billion won range. However, the exact size of the unit Ji Sang-ryeol actually resides in or his ownership status has not been confirmed.

In other words, while caution is needed regarding interpretations such as "he might leave a 3 billion won ocean-view apartment to go to Seoul," it is clear that Ji Sang-ryeol directly mentioned the possibility of reorganizing his long-standing life foundation considering his future with his partner.

Their relationship was not smooth from the beginning.

Due to the 16-year age gap, some members of the public showed negative reactions. Ji Sang-ryeol took a quite direct stance regarding this.

He stated, "I hear there are comments saying the age gap seems large, or asking if I'm trying to marry because I have a lot of money since my face isn't that great. But where is there a person who doesn't look at someone's face or economic status? Everyone looks."

He continued, "From a woman's perspective, would she marry a beggar for her first marriage? Think from the family's perspective. It is natural to want to marry them off into a better environment if possible."

His thoughts on marriage have also already changed quite specifically.

Ji Sang-ryeol previously revealed, "At first, my thoughts on marriage fluctuated. But now, I have a firm determination that I must marry." In January of this year, he even revealed a plan that if he actually gets married, he wants to hold the wedding at Incheon Munhak Stadium. It was reported that Shin Boram also showed a positive reaction to this.

Given that he is specifically imagining the living space after marriage and the wedding venue beyond the excitement of the early dating stages, interpretations are emerging that the two's relationship may have entered a stage beyond a simple public romance.

However, the two have not even been dating for a full year.

When the production team asked if they celebrated their 100th day, Ji Sang-ryeol showed a flustered appearance with a hollow laugh. While his trust in the relationship is growing enough to mention marriage, no specific wedding schedule or concrete plans have been finalized.

In April, Ji Sang-ryeol also expressed his affection, stating, "I am seeing Shin Boram warmly."

The two first met last year on KBS2's "Mr. House Husband" through an introduction by Yeom Kyung-hwan. They subsequently developed into a couple, and Ji Sang-ryeol officially confirmed their relationship at the "2025 KBS Entertainment Awards," stating, "I will continue my warm relationship with Shin Boram."

By considering moving from his lifelong base in Incheon to Seoul, Ji Sang-ryeol's comments suggest he is viewing marriage through a different lens than in the past. While a wedding is not yet decided, it is clear that Shin Boram has become a significant part of his life.
