Ji Yeon-soo shares heartbreaking reason she avoids hugging her son
Divorced from U-KISS's ELI, Ji Yeon-soo reveals how the smells from her restaurant job make her hesitate to embrace her son, Min-su.
Ji Yeon-soo (46), who is divorced from U-KISS member ELI (35), has shared the heartbreaking reason why she avoids hugging her son.
On the 13th, a video titled "The reason why Ji Yeon-soo cannot hug her son Min-su" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Ji Yeon-soo's Yeon-su-rop-da'.
Since her divorce, Ji has been raising her son alone, working various jobs including restaurants, cleaning services, side dish shops, and wedding shops to make a living. Currently working part-time at a gomtang (beef bone soup) restaurant, she shed tears while explaining, "Right before I return home, I call an acquaintance. Once I unlock the door and enter the house, Min-su runs to hug me. But I am covered in the smell of radish kimchi, diced radish kimchi, and boiled meat. I try not to hug my son because I am afraid Min-su will remember me by that smell."
She continued, explaining the hardships of working to support her family: "As I call and enter, I say, 'Mom is on the phone!' because I'm afraid he will smell me. Yesterday, I actually asked Min-su, 'Does Mom smell a lot?' and he said, 'No' and 'It's okay.' But of course, Min-su would dislike it. Sometimes, even I find the smell nauseating."
Ji married ELI in 2014 and gave birth to a son in 2016, but the couple divorced in 2020.
