Kwak Joon-bin Reveals Son Taesan's Name: 'So He Won't Have to Walk on Eggshells Like a Victim of School Violence'
Creator Kwak Joon-bin joins The Return of Superman, sharing touching stories about his son Taesan and his desire for him to grow up independent and strong.
On the 10th, creator Kwak Joon-bin joined the KBS2 entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' as a new Superman and shared a heart-wrenching story about his son.

Appearing in the studio as a novice father to newborn Oh-sam, who is not even 100 days old, Kwak Joon-bin expressed his nervousness, saying, "This is really awkward. I can't believe I'm actually here."
When asked about the difficulties of parenting, Kwak Joon-bin boasted, "The baby is such a devoted son. He sleeps well without much trouble. Even yesterday, he went to sleep at 8 PM and woke up at 8 AM."
He added, "People use the term 'unicorn.' Since this is my first time parenting, I didn't realize my child was that special." His son's real name is Kwak Tae-san. He explained, "I wanted to create a strong and independent name. It sounds a bit like a striker's name. If my son truly wants to become a soccer player, I am willing to support him. If he takes after his mother, he will be good at sports. His mother has great athletic nerves, but I am the worst," he said, jokingly self-deprecating.
He defined his parenting style as 'European-style laissez-faire.' However, behind this neglect-style parenting view lay the painful wounds of his past. Regarding why he wants his son to grow up independently, he revealed, "When I was young, my family's situation was difficult, I had severe appearance complexes, and I was filled with a victim mentality. I also suffered from violence during my school years."
He continued, "When I was young, I thought there was nothing I could do. My perspective was too narrow, but as I grew up and went abroad, I saw many different sides of things. I hope Tae-san experiences many things and lives with his own thoughts. I want him to become a child who wants to do many things on his own."
Regarding his true intentions behind choosing the name Tae-san, he expressed his wish for his son to grow larger and wider than himself, saying, "Actually, I am pretending to be relaxed, but my heart is anxious and I keep checking everything. I am pretending to be relaxed because I want to raise him in a relaxed manner. I hope Tae-san doesn't become impatient or have to walk on eggshells like his father. I want Tae-san to know a world that is wider than his father's."
