Kim Da-young Says Her Pet Name for 14-Years-Older Bae Seong-jae Is "Aji," and Sometimes "Grandfather"
Announcer couple Bae Seong-jae and Kim Da-young shared their affectionate nicknames and everyday married life on MBN and Channel S's "Jeon Hyeon-mu Plan 3."
Announcer couple Bae Seong-jae and Kim Da-young revealed the sweet nicknames they use for each other, offering a glimpse into their newly shared married life.

On the June 12 broadcast of MBN and Channel S's food-travel variety program "Jeon Hyeon-mu Plan 3," Bae Seong-jae and Kim Da-young appeared together and opened up about how they address one another in private.
Hosts Jeon Hyeon-mu and KwakTube, also known as Gwak Jun-bin, met Bae and Kim as their "meok-chingu," or dining companions, and set off with them on a tour of hidden neighborhood restaurants in Seoul's backstreets.
As soon as KwakTube saw Bae Seong-jae, he greeted him warmly by joking, "You're here again." Bae had also appeared on season two of "Jeon Hyeon-mu Plan" last year. At that time, Jeon Hyeon-mu, KwakTube, and Bae Seong-jae were all publicly unmarried, but unbeknownst to Jeon, Bae and Kim Da-young were already in a relationship.
Looking back on that period, Bae said, "Hyeon-mu hyung gave me relationship advice." Caught off guard by the unexpected revelation, Jeon responded in embarrassment, "So I was giving dating counseling to someone who already had a girlfriend?" He then turned the joke on himself, saying, "My appetite just disappeared."
While the four moved by car to their next restaurant, the conversation shifted to married life. Jeon asked, "I think this is the first time a married couple has appeared together. What do you call each other?"
Bae answered, "I keep it simple and call her 'baby.'" Kim Da-young, using a playful and affectionate tone, said she calls him "Aji."
Jeon teased them by asking, "Does Aji mean a puppy? Is it really Aji, not ajae?" Bae replied, "Sometimes she also calls me grandfather," acknowledging the age difference himself.
KwakTube then brought up the couple's 14-year age gap and asked, "Do you communicate well?" Kim said the difference is not something she usually notices as much as people might expect. "In everyday life, I don't think about the age difference that much. If anything, my husband knows today's trendy expressions better than I do. I'm the one who understands them less," she said, sharing an unexpected detail about their dynamic.
Kim also said she enjoys cooking at home. "I originally cooked mostly Western-style food, but because my husband likes Korean food, I now make a lot of Korean dishes," she explained. Bae proudly added, "Before she met me, she didn't even have a delivery app," saying that his wife makes sure to prepare food at home.
Seeing their relationship up close, Jeon told Bae, "You really married well. Where could you find someone like this?" His expression showed clear envy as he reacted to the couple's story.
