Yoon Kyung-ho breaks into tears after winning first Best Supporting Actor award

Actor Yoon Kyung-ho could not hold back his tears as he embraced his first-ever Blue Dragon Series Awards Best Supporting Actor trophy. His heartfelt acceptance speech, filled with sincere gratitude toward his colleagues and family, moved the entire ceremony hall.

Yoon won the Best Supporting Actor award for the TVING original series "The Cook, Becoming a Legend" at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards held at Incheon Paradise City on the 31st.

From the moment his name was called, Yoon could not hide his emotion, bursting into tears as soon as he stepped onto the stage.

"I can't believe it," he said, breaking into tears. "In the waiting room, Jun Hyun-moo told me, 'I hope there is good news,' so I jokingly told him that if someone else wins, he should at least call my name first. I really didn't think my name would actually be called. Am I being too much?"

Yoon continued by confessing that the Blue Dragon Series Awards stage itself has always been a place of learning for him.

"Looking at the nominees for Best New Actor, I thought, 'There are actors who act this well. Just being in this place as an actor alongside them makes me want to work even harder,'" he said. "I truly never imagined I would receive an award like this."

He attributed the honor to the colleagues who created the work with him.

"This is an award I could never receive alone," Yoon said, giving credit to the team. "It is the result created together by the actors, including Park Ji Hoon, Lee Sang-yi, and Lee Hong-nae, as well as the director and all the staff."

He also expressed his sincerity, saying, "I will take this award not as a sign that I am doing well now, but as a mandate to continue holding my place well in the future. I will accept it gratefully, thinking of it as an award for all of us."

The most touching moment came when he mentioned his family.

While his role in the drama involved being responsible for the meals of many people, he spoke of the family who silently supported him in reality. "While I am telling a story about cooking meals for someone, I want to say I am most grateful to my family, who protected me by cooking my meals," he said, his eyes reddening again.

Struggling to compose himself, Yoon finally finished his speech with a smile.

"I wanted to speak grandly, but the tears are flowing uncontrollably," he joked. "Due to time constraints, it says 'Please keep your speech brief.' I have so much I want to say, but..." After making the lighthearted remark, he expressed his gratitude to his agency members before leaving the stage.

Yoon's sincere tears left a deeper resonance than the glamorous award itself, earning applause from the audience.
