Shiba, son of Kim Ji-sun, opens up about panic disorder and part-time work

Shiba, the rapper and son of comedian Kim Ji-sun, has revealed that he has struggled with panic disorder and social phobia, sharing that he has begun working part-time to make a living.

On the 4th, Shiba posted a lengthy message on his SNS, candidly discussing his musical career and the harsh realities he faces.

"For a while, I had the somewhat arrogant thought that I could make a living solely through music," he stated, adding, "I poured all my savings into music, but my money kept decreasing, and my worries about how to live in the future only grew larger."

However, he noted that even seeking new employment was a challenge. Shiba confessed, "The very fact that I had to look for work while suffering from severe social phobia and panic disorder was too terrifying. I spent my time trying to ignore reality by repeatedly going between the studio and the gym."

He explained that he eventually decided to change after realizing, "Such a lifestyle was actually eating away at me bit by bit."

After finding an opportunity through chance, he started a part-time job. He is currently working four days a week for seven hours a day, using his remaining time to continue his music production.

Shiba shared a positive outlook, noting, "It is an environment where there is no break time and no meals provided, but I am grateful just for the fact that I can work within society again. I am also gradually overcoming my panic disorder and social phobia."

Reflecting on his fourth anniversary in the music industry, he expressed his gratitude to his supporters. "I am sincerely grateful to everyone who listened to my music and silently supported me. I wouldn't have been able to hold on this long if it weren't for you," he told his fans.

Shiba is the second of four children (three sons and one daughter) born to Kim Ji-sun and her husband. He has been building his own musical identity as a rapper since 2024.
